There are only two possible starting classes: ethnographer
or streamer
. However, this initial choice is more like picking Voice A or Voice B, in that it sets the register and tenor of the title character’s outlook at the start of the game. For a completionist playthrough, the two classes are interdependent, but you can still “beat the game” as a pure ethnographer or pure streamer.
The ethnographer build is analytical, academic, sincerely believes their mission, 100% memory wiped. The streamer build is charm-heavy, a little skeptical of the so-called mission, but with a knack for content creation, and less memory-wiped.
